Nearby

Just 15 minutes drive see you at the beach. Either on a quiet secluded one (naturist or not) or on a beach with all sorts of entertainment.

Further along the coast towards Cadiz, only about 1 hours drive you have the surfing centre of the south coast, Tarifa.

No visit is complete without a drive down to Gibraltar -where you can take a leisurely cab trip to see the apes, the caves and do some cheap shopping. There is an exciting ride up in a cable car to the top of the Rock.
The famous monuments of Seville are a two hour drive away, Granada and the Alhambra 1 and a half hours. The ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada about the same.

If monuments are not your thing take a leisurely drive up to the lakes at El Chorro near Antequera ( about 40 minutes) where you can swim in the deep blue water, hire a boat or pedallo or have lunch in a rustic log restaurant overlooking the water.

For walkers there are some wonderful walks without getting the car out. Help can be given with maps. Or just a short drive away walks to suit all fitnessess. A picnic bag, and sticks are available for visitors. For the sporting there are good riding stables close by and several championship Golf courses. Coin has tennis courts too.

If this is a bit too energetic you can join a four by four vehicle safari which will take you out into the mountains and rivers for a day or half day.

Up in Ronda, which boasts the oldest bull ring in Spain and one of the most spectacular towns with its deep gorge you can go on a balloon safari. For train lovers, you can take the train from Cartama Estacion and go up to the little town of Alora , and walk up to the castle.

On the 1st of May Coin has its Spring feria - with a week of entertainment, fireworks and festivities. The first week of June is the Romeria , or horse pilgrimage to the Hermitage where the Virgin de la Fuensanta is honoured. This is a spectacular fiesta of horses, carriages and bright costumes and traditional dresses. August, a sleepy time for most, is the summer feria, when nothing much happens all day, but Coin springs into life at 11pm and parties all night. Just five minutes drive away it is all happing, but back at the Chalets it is peaceful.

There is a castle close by at Monda, now a hotel, which is spectacular and you can eat looking out over breath taking views. There is also a gun and country club where you can eat, clay pigeon shoot or hire quad bikes for a ride through the countryside along mountain tracks.

Prices range from 450 Euros per week from May 18th to June 6th to 600 Euros per week in the peak season (Easter and summer months).
